What does a physical space for an online marketplace feel like?

Designed for StockX, the StockX Drop-Off was created as a place where customers could hand over sold items and accelerate authentication without the usual process of packaging and shipping. Working within a compact 36-square-metre site, our challenge was to create a space that felt larger than its footprint while reinforcing StockX’s connection to the digital realm.

We developed the concept “from the street to the gallery”, using mirrors to pull the city into the space and display sneakers and apparel more like cultural artefacts than retail products. A bespoke ceiling light forms one quarter of the brand’s “X”, completed through reflection and becoming fully visible from the street at night.

Rather than creating a traditional retail environment, we kept the space intentionally minimal and used colour-blocking to frame moments of interaction and display. Reusable foam plinths elevated high-value pieces as objects of focus while supporting the temporary and adaptable nature of the pop-up itself.
